Getting to Vigo

Vigo is well served by a comprehensive infrastructure linking the city with the main cities of Galicia, Peninsula and the rest of the international destinations. Its Atlantic port, airport (Peinador), roads and railways allow the existence of a wide range of transport for all preferences and possibilities.

By Road:

The highways, expressways and roads that converge in Vigo make it easy to reach from anywhere on the Peninsula. The Northwest highway (A-52) connects the city with Madrid and the plateau, and the Rias Baixas highway (A-55) runs from Vigo to the north of Portugal motorway through Tui, towards Braga and Oporto to connect in Lisbon, also connects with Highway Vigo-Baiona. Atlantic Highway (AP-9) communicates the city, through Pontevedra, Santiago and A Coruña.

By Train:

There are daily connections between Vigo and surrounding cities: Ourense, Pontevedra, Santiago, La Coruña and Porto. Besides offering express and daily Talgo to Madrid and Barcelona, and direct trains to Leon, Ponferrada, Bilbao and Alicante.

The bus station is the point of origin and destination of a wide range of national and international lines, as well as regional and suburban lines. The main links connect Vigo to Madrid, Barcelona, Asturias, Bilbao, Irun, San Sebastian, Zaragoza, Extremadura, Andalusia, ... It also has international routes to Portugal (Porto, Lisbon and Algarve), France, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Denmark and Germany.
